San Floriano del Collio (GO)

Nei nostri vini, ricerchiamo il gusto dell’uva, la freschezza dei nostri grappoli, per raccontare l’essenza del nostro territorio

Founded by Anton Humar already at the beginning of the 20th century, the company witnessed two world conflicts, which literally marked its time. In particular, during the Second World War, the company entered a "setback". The borders were "hot" and there was a new priority: survival. Fortunately, thanks to the care of some local women, the vineyards were saved "from gunshots and explosions" and with the grapes harvested at the end of summer, in 1958, it was possible to proceed with the first bottling. In the same year, his sons Marcello and Marino took over the company and - over time - expanded the hectares of property, reaching 14. In the vineyard there is Natasha Humar, agronomist, who, when asked "what kind of viticulture do you rely on?" he replies "None. We have adopted a free management system, which allows us to continue experimenting. We study soils and roots in depth and carry out important prevention work on the grapes, using innovative and environmentally friendly products". Natasha is like this, anarchic in some ways but faithful to her beliefs: to identify the most appropriate and sustainable way to produce wine it is necessary to do research, without constraints.

Native varieties prevail, such as Ribolla Gialla, Friulano and Malvasia Istriana, with the aim - in the not too distant future - of producing their own version of Collio Bianco. In every wine, we find the freshness and minerality typical of the terroir - of Collio - and the deep and authentic, almost atavistic taste of the grapes. Approximately 60,000 bottles/year are produced, of only pure vines.
