Tenuta Borgo Conventi

Farra d'Isonzo (GO)

Curare i vigneti è il gesto più importante, dal 1975, da quando è nata la nostra Azienda. Nei nostri terreni sul Collio, si sente ancora l’odore del mare ma le onde, sono i verdi vigneti a terrazze

Having arrived in '89 as a cellar master, Paolo Corso is today the oenologist of the "Borgo Conventi" winery in Farra d'Isonzo - which, right from its name, recalls the monastic atmosphere that surrounds it. The origins, in fact, are curious: on the same plot on which the winery now stands, there should have been one of the first monasteries of the "Lower", as the result of an agreement between a wealthy landowner and a friar devoted to charity. The tranquility that can be felt has remained the same, despite the new – and different – mission. 30 hectares of vineyards, SQNPI certified, part of which is in Collio. Borgo Conventi is today the "home" of Paolo Corso and the "oenological gem" of the Polegato family, already owners of Villa Sandi in Treviso.

Approaching the fermentation room, you can smell the aromas of the pomace and must, sinuous and invigorating, like the wines: Sauvignon, Ribolla Gialla, Pinot Grigio and Friulano but also Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso and others. Refined wines, which "tell" a territory and its origins.
